Angkor Wat

I’d finally reached the fabled temples and had been through my first day here. It takes a few days to take it all in, it’s so vast and spread out. It did take some 37 years to build the entire complex after all. I found these boys under some trees.

Their mother ran one of the restaurants in the temple grounds. What struck me was the love the older boy had for his younger brother; it was palpable, even from a distance. Together they were looking up into the trees for the many cheeky macaques that inhabit the forests around the temple and who will happily rob you of your food if you’re not careful.
