Du Gia Ha Giang Paddy Field (Monochrome)

I found this man, well off any main road, in Ha Chiang province, Vietnam, not far from the Chinese border. He seemed really amused that I wanted to take his photograph, especially when my sandals became stuck in the mud.

It’s a beautiful part of the world, a throw-back in time but with a great deal of poverty; many of the people live without electricity or running water. Rice and corn form the basis for most people’s diets.
